Kate Winslet was phenomenal in this movie. As far as the film itself…it was forgettable. It should NOT by any stretch been nominated for best pic over Doubt, Gran Torino, or The Dark Knight.
This film will linger in your dreams and be with you when you wake. It is about love and how we sometimes fail those we love most. Kate Winslet is astonishing throughout. Do go see it.
I don’t know…i’ve never seen the movie, but i feel’s kinda phycologycal and confusing…still i wanna watch it. But isnt she too old for him???or is that related to the drama too??
German actor David Kross was great especially for someone that young (he was 17 at the time of filming and 18 for the sex scenes) to display such talent, depth and complexity in an incredibly emotional movie.
I thought Ralph Fiennes was dull. Everything else was superb. Both Winslet and Kross were amazing and complex, and I have watched this movie three times now because it is the best one of the year. Almost flawless, passionate,erotic but not vulgar. Everuthing a movie should be. For me,it showed true love, which rarely happens. I loved it.
This movie touched me like no other since The
Dear Hunter. I cried like a baby at the end.
In the end, another human being falls, pitilessly beneath the sythe of human judgment. The lesson straight out of the camps lost. We continue to make the call
every day, “Life” or “Death” ? And true to
form, NOW, is never the right time for mercy.
I loved the novel, I hope the movie is great than the book. In france, we must wait july 15th to watch it.
TH e young actor, David Kross, is very good I’ve seen him in a german movie 2 years ago. I don’t remember the german title but in french that’s “les enragés”, a good film.
