Yeah, I agree with making more with Picard and the gang, but I think this new movie will be good.

they should have left prequels to George Lucas and Star Wars and made new Trek’s, there is still life in Picard and crew

I think matt damon would have made a decent kirk. ya Shatner is way too old not to mention without DeForest Kelly and James Doohan there is no point in ressurecting the old crew

my dad is so pissed. i think he’s going to sue someone if it’s not exactly the same. personally, i really don’t want to see william shatner in a body suit now. nothing against him.
i think just it’s funny that the guy from just my luck is playing kirk.

Some one is going home disappointed because they are going to go into the theater hell bent on hating the movie. It’s happened with every prequel, sequel, and reboot out there.

I’ve been a Trekker since Day One (yep 9/8/66) and have always kept an open mind with Trek in all it’s incarnations. This trailer looks very promising and not the ST 90210 they have threatened in the past. If the film holds to it’s promise, no one is going home disappointed.

Sure he made ethan into a married man, but its nice to see he tried to progress the story, cloverfield failed because nobody was expecting it to be that kind of movie. People go watch a movie expecting the version they made in thier mind. Hollywood has been failing with shitty movies, jj abrams has been trying to bring something different to the table.

This is such an awesome trailer. It looks so spectacular. I cannot wait to see this movie. In my opinion, this movie has restored my faith in Star Trek to deliver. When I first saw the Enterprise in the teaser and when it was eventually revealed, my jaw hit the floor. This movie is going to take Star Trek to a whole new level of excitment.

yea I agree but if I remember a little wile ago paramount unofficialy started a rumor that there was going to be a movie with him and the excelsior with him as the captain.this was after the undiscovered country but don’t know what happened to that so I thought I would place him in there somewhere.:)

He just seems out of place in that list seeing as all the others were basically the centers of their respective series :)

One of these is not like the others, one of these just isn’t the same…

Why is Sulu in that list?

I never been a Star Trek fan.

I hated the direction JJ Abrams taken for Mission Impossible III, he made Ethan Hawk into a married man and a wuss. Cloverfield as well fell below expectations, it was more of a cheesy love story in a monertously destroyed New York City.

But this… this actually looks pretty good. In a filmaking fad of origins such as Batman, Begins, Transformers and Casion Royale, I think this’ll join the group of a good origin story.
