totally agree with u tsny35!First of all j apologize 4 my english!!star trak was,is the first interracial kiss,Sulu from Japan,Chechov from Russia, the first contact with alien(Spock),it doesn’t matter where r u from ….and anyway the crew(multiethnical crew) is like a family!this was the original roddenberry idea(thanks mr rodenberry!)
That isn’t JJ Abrams, that’s the other dude. He’s making that war film now, with Tom cruise. But it’s confusing, coz these guyz are all new to us and they kinda have the same style in filming. Brett ratner too.
i too am worried about that, but let me play devils advocate here, many of the issues that exsisted in the 60’s dont exsist today, or are so rare and minut, that putting them into a show is kind of pointless, its no longer a taboo to talk about taboo issues… also. with nimoy there i believe it will be good. he is a deiti among trek, so when he speaks people listen, also i think he would have no issue leaveing if he didnt like it. so i think it will be okay
it dose look like a classic vet, but its two hundred and fifty years in the future. like the ww1 spad my boss built, with an engine from a twin comander and a hand made prop, its not exactly like a true world war 1 spad. its probably not authentic, and could be an automatic..
Gene Roddenberry refered to his original episodes as morality plays and attempted to deal with social issues of 1960’s. (e.g. drug use, racism, and cold war ideological dogmatism, among other questions of social justice) and could be quite complex. It was really more of an exploration of humanity then wahts in space. The original fans who loved this aspect of the series, I think, is worried that this will now be lost in favor of shoot em up action and pretty explosions. But we will see in may…
I like your points but, I cant imagen that the care in the trailer is an automatic, it looks like a classic corvett after all. But the building of the frame and hull on earth before putting it in space dock for the final touches makes sense, I allways thought it would be really tough to assemply such a huge ship from scratch in zero gravity.
Well, J.J. Abrams did allright with the first X-men movie and, as a big superman fan, I thought he did a pretty good job (for the most part) of keeping true to that series of films. So maybe he can pull it off with star trek, maybe.
The movie seems pretty cool, IMO. From what we were shown here, it looks like it’ll have plenty of action and awesome special-effects. Looking forward to May now.
