The movie takes place in between the 1950’s and 60’s. Batman’s eyes and Superman’s S were based on their comic counterparts from the time, which also explains the Martian Manhunter’s eyebrows, Wonder Woman’s hair, and the use of Hal Jordan and Barry Allen as Green Lantern and the Flash. The movie was based on the end of the Golden age of comics and the beginning of the Silver age and how it was viewed by the public.
I don’t really like this movie.. cuz of a few reasons:
(1) Superman’s involvement was minimal. Plus, his ‘S’ sign was turned back to the old fashioned when I would have preferred it to have stayed yellow and red.
(2) Batman’s eyes… why change it all of sudden? It looks rather funny rather than intimidating..
(3) This movie takes place during which time frame? I’m rather confused.. WW2?
(4) The explosions are superb but I find it rather boring, draggy and confusing at times..
It was a decent film; yes. It felt a little rushed, but any seventy-minute movie based on a four-issue comic book miniseries will have that kind of feeling to it. I don’t reccomend it for everyone, though, because it was a little pessimistic and negative, considering all that it borrowed from the golden age characters. I actually thought the trailers were more enjoyable to watch than the movie itself, since they at least seemed hopeful and upbeat.
Given the new different design of the Batman in this film, it’s probably better that they didn’t use Kevin Conroy. Don’t misinterpret me, I think Mr. Conroy has always done a phenomenal job. I still love “Batman: TAS” and “Justice League.” But within the context of this film, I don’t think that he was the right voice for this particular Batman.
I recommend anyone to see this movie. It’s fantastic! One of the best animation movies ever. Keven Conroy not voicing Batman was the only let down and not much of a let down either.
sigue siendo tan malo y feo como siempre, en cuanto a animación y todo…
lo único distinto q noté fue un pequeñisimo cambio en los trajes… en vez de slip usan boxer ahora los superhéroes xD jajajajjajajajajjaa
