And we’re all as bad as each other.
Read about colonialism, the conquest of the Americas, the slave-trade, the scramble for Africa.
All of us, including the United States, were involved in that at various times.
It was probably as bad or even much worse as what the Nazis did.
In the two world wars Europeans basically did to each other what they’d been doing to non-Europeans for a long time.
I just think WW2 should be treated with respect.
In the past too many film-makers and game-developers have turned it into entertainment.
And Tarantino seems to be dealing with it as a genre of film, rather than a real event.
That’s fine if you’re dealing with the martial-arts genre, or the crime of horror genre.
But with WW2, treating it as an exercise in style could be tastless.
Then again I haven’t seen the film yet so who the fuck knows.
if he’d said ‘yes i hate that we lost that war!’ wouldnt that make him a nazi?
and yes its history and the germans were the bad guys, but we’ve seen it in a 100 movies and read it in a 100 books, it was 60 years ago. shouldnt everyone know by now that it wasnt the right thing to do what the nazis did? do we need another movie that screams ‘germans are motherfucking bastards!’? cause today we’re not(well most of us) but if you see these movies you may get the impression we are.
My god! You took that to the heart! Give me a break. I didnt mean to hurt your feeling you little bitch. And I never said anything about Germany being Nazis still. What I do know is my grandfather fought in that war, and always had respect for the German people and its military at that time even what they did was wrong! Chill the fuck out
It´s not that i “liked” what germany did in WW2 its just that i cant see those anti-germany movies anymore.
It sucks to see a movie where the actors says hell yea lets kill some fucking germans my two grandpas died in WW2 so i cant enjoy looking movies like that.
But u cant understand that……..
Yep…movies lead to war, definitely not the other way around at alllllll. You haven’t even seen the movie to know how it portrays anyone. I didn’t see anyone complaining when Forest Gump turned Vietnam into a sappy love/drama/ anti war movie. WWII was part of history, which allows people to discuss it in many forms. Lampooning history does not mean we do not respect it.
There were “times”…really? I sure hope you are not comparring the US actions in WWII to that of the Nazis. One word…genocide…It is amazing what humans can be coerced into doing by people in command. The Germans were not evil people, it was the Nazi leadership.
Anti German??? More like history my friend…no offense but that is where it happened. There is always a “good” and a “bad” guy in every war. Just happened to be the Germans at that point in time. So any movie about Vietnam is anti-Vietnamese? God, I guess Forest Gump was just a propaganda flick to make us hate the Vietnamese. There is nothing wrong with Germans, they have a history, so doeas every country, yours just happens to involve probably the largest genocide ever committed.
ah yes. I am from Germany, that means I am a nazi and on my way to conquer the world. that is so true. we’re gonna attack poland again, but this time we’re gonna bomb right through russia to china. we conquer china. we have 2billion people on our side. we rule the world. thats how its gonna happen. sit back and enjoy!
Nothing that my country has ever done can compared to the atrocities committed by Germany in WWII. And honestly, we should always be reminded of this so this can NEVER happen again. Or is that just what you want?
hah you and chevelle3 are stupid idiots. yea germany lost that war, and germany started it and its all germanys fault. so what? we’ve seen it in a 100 movies, our fucked up country suffers under its past even though noone of us actually was there, we couldnt do anything about it, yet we’re still nazi germany. tell me where are you from? whats you countrys dark past? dont say there is no, there always is. so just shut_the_fuck_up. thanks. looks like a nice film though. I think you need to relax a little bit. Quentin Tarentino wants nothing more but to make a kick-ass movie, and I think it will be just that
