To answer your first question, no, I’m not stupid, selective, but not stupid. One, it is Halloween 4 in which Michael gets shot at but it’s not at point blank range and he is tended to by a hermit. In the remake Laurie’s right up on him and shoots him square in the head which would completely blow anyone’s brains out FOR GOOD! And two, being as selective as I am I only count 1, 2 and H20 as the real original Halloween series. But of course that part is just my opinion.

In my eyes, that’s just wrong and makes all the honest filmmakers trying to get the attention of big studio’s look like a bunch of punks who aren’t willing to go all the way to make the quick buck with material that the source said would never be put to light. Rob Zombie is nothing more than a corporate monkey and I refuse to be lead on by anymore of his blasphemous trash.
And I personally don’t get it. First, Rob Zombie says that he will never do a remake and then he decides to remake the greatest horror classic. Second, he says that he wants to make the film more realistic and so he kills off Michael with a blow to the head. And third, he said he wouldn’t do a sequel and then he somehow explains away the finality of the ending of the remake and make this.
As Far as I’m concerned Michael Myers is officially dead. In the original film series he died when Laurie chopped off his head at the end of H20. In this new film series he died when Laurie shot him in the head at point blank range at the end of the remake.
