one thing I liked about this movie is Chanda actually has some background. Earlier Devdas movies never showed what Chandramukhi is made of.. where her pain came from.. this is better
Other Indian direstors should learn the power of underplay from Anurap Kashyap. Even the most powerful dialogues are said in a matter-of-fact way and not lilke punchlines,
if not for anything else, just for the end- i like this version of devdas. the first two were kind of doomed, but this one says there’s hope for devdas and even chadramukhi ….good
