But in terms of fighting on the Western Front their performance was only marginally better than the British. Britain in particular was led by slow and ponderous generals who knew little of modern warfare. All the best generals came from Germany or the USSR (Zhukov, Rommel, Konev, von Manstein etc). The USA made it impossible for the Allies to lose because of their massive industrial might, but Russia did more to actually win the war. Read ‘Armageddon’ by Max Hastings! I am British too!

I don’t understand this, firstly there is very little truly concrete evidence which decidedly proves that Bielsky took part in the massacre of innocent Poles. Secondly what is this argument about the US and Britain being key in WW2? The USSR inflicted 90% of German casualties in the war. Britain did nothign for 2 years then eventually beat Germany in N Africa when they massively outnumbered them in mem and supplies. The US’ aid to USSR was invaluable.

Morning everybody. I’ve noticed my historically uneducated friends can’t help praising the film despite it’s a lie. I can’t help but wonder who is next to be portrayed as a hero. Maybe Hitler? Stalin? There are quite a few folks waiting for their autobiographies to be corrected and cleaned. So, dear Hollywood artists, don’t let them wait.

Excuse, but haven’t you forgot about the American aid to Soviet Union?

“American aid to the Soviet Union between 1941 and 1945 amounted to 18 million tons of materiel at an overall cost of $10 billion ($120 billion modern)”

If it wasn’t for that help, there would be little or no resistance for the Soviet Union.

80% of Nazi losses and 75% of Nazi tank losses occurred on the Eastern front, in reality neither the US or the UK had a large effect on the outcome of WWII it was primarily a conflict between Germany and Russia.

The Great Lithuanian, Russian and Jamoit Proncedom was the most literate country in the Medieval Europe. A huge bulk of archives existed in Warsaw, Vilnuis, St. Petersburg, London, Berlin and other cities. The Princedom left the biggest written legacy than any other medieval state. There were not only state documents, but a lot of private papers – business contracts, wills, letters, money receipts etc.
Just look, what language they used.
