One of the worst documentaries I have ever viewed! feature length MTV inspired junk with rapid fire editing. In any other filmmakers hands this could have been a true classic! As is typical these days, if you judge the film based on it’s poor quality, you are attacked by mindless idiots who love it because of what it’s about, not how it was made.
It is specifically the family court system that held zachary’s future in its hands.
How am i comparing apples to oranges?
I think you chose the wrong cliche.
The Violence Against Women movement has had a profound impact on family law. When it comes to intimate murders, men are considered to be at fault by default. Blaming any woman is considered to be heresy to this gender cult. It is of little importance who actually pulled the trigger, and who was killed. In any family court judges mind Andrew Bagby must have had it coming and Shirley Turner was the real victim as well as a heroic vigilante.
There is no mystery about why the family court system failed the Bagby’s.
Shirley Turner was a woman and a single mother.
The sole purpose of the family court, as well as “child protective” services is to promote the interests of the single mother.
Dont be fooled by these euphemisms.
If the genders were reversed, you would notice the opposite problem with bias negligence.
I just finished watching the movie and I can’t even talk about it to anyone without bawling. Goddamn that woman. I hate her myself. The Bagby’s are such wonderful people, I don’t know why such tragedy should have been put upon them in this lifetime.
i was saw this when it was aired on tv and it had me in tears. andrew’s parents are a true symbol of perseverance and love. i was trying to remember the name of it a few weeks ago when telling a coworker how moving this story was and was happy to rediscover it at the video store today. i recommend it to anyone.

Is it really the family court system or the criminal court system? I think you are comparing apples and oranges here.

I just read an interview with Andrew’s parents – utterly heartbreaking. That woman was pure evil.
